ABOUT THE OWNER
Pete Spanos
Pete Spanos converted to pickleball at age 58, when his body finally convinced him it was time to step away from soccer and tennis. Like many senior athletes, he found pickleball to be the ideal replacement—offering competition, camaraderie, and (most of the time!) a level playing field against younger players.
A former Division I soccer player, Pete is the founder of Vetta Sports, which owns and operates multiple indoor amateur recreational sports venues featuring soccer, tennis, pickleball, and racquetball. He and his brother, John, own four indoor racquet clubs that include dedicated pickleball courts.
Pete competes nationally in Masters Pro and Senior Pro divisions, including tournaments such as the US Open and the USAP Nationals.
He splits his time between St. Louis and the Tampa/St. Pete region, and especially enjoys connecting players in both communities for competition and friendship.
